Why You Matter

The role of the Senior Technical Services Consultant is to primarily act as the lead consultant for multiple medium to large professional service engagements.

This role either works with a designated Carbon Black (Cb) Engagement Manager or as the sole team member. The Senior Technical Services Consultant will provide Cb customers with technical and best practice guidance, hands-on configuration, implementation support, product mentoring, and in the case of other service engagements, project management support.

Cb professional service offerings are designed and offered to ensure that Cb customers have successful implementations and recognize value in their Cb investments.

This role will need to be filled by a resource that is comfortable working independently and while working with complex and complicated customer environment.

This person must be able to build partnerships with cross-functional groups throughout Cb. A strong desire for success and a positive attitude are essential to this job.

As a Senior Technical Services Consultant you will be expected to help mentor and work with other staff members and provide thought leadership on how to continually improve Cb’s implementation services and approaches, as well as provide customer feedback and product ideas to Cb and support our growing user and partner community on the Carbon Black User Exchange.

What You’ll Do

  • Work as a Senior Technical Services Consultant to fully deploy Cb software at customer sites
  • Collect technical requirements from customer and configure the Cb software to work within the capabilities of the application for those requirements.
  • Review the configuration decisions that are available to customer and provide expertise and guidance on best practices.
  • Provide in-depth onsite and remote technical guidance to new Cb customers to ensure a successful implementation
  • For single-Consultant assigned engagements, perform project management functions including, but not limited to, project scheduling, project tracking and status / completion reporting
  • Build and maintain customer relationships
  • Work efficiently with Cb technical support team to solve customer issues
  • Provide critical customer escalation support to ensure timely and effective customer issue remediation and experience
  • Help ensure product and solution implementation expertise across the technical teams
  • Provide market and product feature input to product management and engineering
  • Contribute to best practices material development and maintenance in concert with Cb product releases
  • Up to 50% overnight travel possible to customer and Cb facilities
  • What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise application security solutions
  • 10+ years’ experience in security / network engineering, sales engineering, or systems engineering
  • Proven ability to guide and mentor new and less senior staff to grow their experiences and skills
  • Proven ability to work remotely and independently to deliver Customer solutions and stay current with Cb product announcements, releases and processes
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructures and configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Apple OSx and Linux configuration and management
  • Knowledge of software deployment and patch management tools (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
