A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the South Yorkshire Regional Services Care Group, for a senior nurse to undertake the role of Interim Deputy Nurse Director for a minimum period of 6 months.

We are seeking applications from experienced senior nurses who have demonstrable acute clinical experience, dynamic leadership skills and a desire to progress in their nursing career.

The care group provides a highly specialised regional service and comprises of three clinical directorates including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery / Angiography and Renal.

The 23 clinical departments are located at the Northern General and Hallamshire hospitals with additional renal dialysis satellite units at Barnsley and Chesterfield Hospitals and Heeley.

We are seeking a full-time, experienced, highly motivated and skilled senior nurse leader.

Attributes should include proven leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate evidence of leading and managing change in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate experience of working effectively in a multi professional environment within an acute hospital setting.

You will support the Nurse Director across the full range of duties, providing strong leadership and professional advice across the multi professional team to enable high quality patient centred services and care.

You will actively lead and manage the governance agenda, working closely with the Medical Governance Leads and the Care Group Governance Coordinators, providing support and advice relating to clinical and non-clinical risk.

He or she will be expected to represent nursing at Trust and National level and will lead on specific projects and work streams on behalf of the Care Group, deputising for the Nurse Director in her absence.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 6 months. Where there is potential, the secondment / fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment / fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal / external secondment of the substantive post holder.

The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.
