About the Client :

My Client are an internationally recognised mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering contractor. They have a well-established presence in Ireland, the UK and Northern Europe, working with excellent clients across various sectors such as Datacentres, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Industrial and Commercial.

About the Role :

  • We are looking for an experience M&E Planner to join the family; the projects you will work on will consist of commercial works including Healthcare and Education on projects from £2M up to £50M.
  • You will be based on site at Didcot

  • The M&E Planner will be proactive and able to work individually as well as part of a team. You will also be able to plan a project from start to finish and you will have a wealth of knowledge in M&E.
  • The planner is seen as the facilitator of the Project Controls System and will be aided by the greater project team. The M&E Planner will be confident in representing Dornan at Progress / Planning meetings / workshop’s
  • The M&E Planner responsibilities include-
  • The planner will work with the team to develop programmes from Pre-Construction to Construction and Commissioning. Project Planning will be completed using Primavera P6 or ASTA Power Project
  • Development of the Project Controls Systems specific to the Project including :

  • Setting up WBS
  • Set up Progress Measurement System (PMS)
  • Develop the Schedule, S-Curves and Manpower Histograms
  • Cost Loading of Programs (as required)
  • Baseline the Schedule
  • Implementing the Project Controls systems
  • Progress Measuring of all works, Direct & Sub-Contract, using the Dornan bespoke PMS
  • Monitoring of Labour man hours & Analyse Labour Efficiencies
  • Update the Schedule in Primavera / ASTA
  • Systems Turnover Tracking
  • Monitor delays & client Notifications as required
  • Monthly Project Reporting to Senior Management
  • About the Candidate :

    The successful M&E Planner must have

  • Experience in Mechanical / Electrical contracting planning for installations
  • 3-5 years’ planning experience after training
  • Ex-Trade & Engineering Degree candidates will be considered
  • Computer skills requirements of the M&E Planner

  • Primavera P6 or ASTA PowerProjects
  • Advanced Excel
  • Report Production
  • MS Office
  • General requirements of the M&E Planner

  • Good communication Skills.
  • Good Time Management Skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a fully integrated team is essential.
