Deputy H ead of Global Investment , GroupM

OVERVIEW OF ROLE :

  • The Deputy Head of Global Investment (final title TBD) , GroupM, will be responsible for supporting the Global H ead of Investment in developing and implementing the GroupM Global investment strategy globally, with a specific focus on managing investment across EMEA (given the Global Head of Investment's f focus on NA, LatAm, China & India ) .
  • They will be responsible for supporting key markets and leading, advising and mentoring local investment leaders, as needed to ensure their success .
  • They will be responsible for s haring global strategy and best global practice and ensuring it ' s effectively implemented .

    They will be responsible to help across key clients and new business as needed to ensure effective pricing and accountability in service .

    They will be responsible for delivery of key financial targets, including product sales and adherence to GroupM compliance standards .

  • They will need to closely work with other senior Global investment staff including the Global Investment CFO, the Global Executive Director of People, the Global Heads of Partnerships , the EMEA CIO s a s well as other key staff across Services, Specialty Brands and of course the agencies.
  • They will need to manage key GroupM relationships across the EMEA region with senior GroupM staff as the "investment voice" such as the GroupM CEO , the GroupM CFO etc.
  • They will also need to liase with key agency investment staff who are based in London such as the agency CIOs and the GroupM EMEA CIO s .

  • Based in London with global travel required as necessary .
  • R eport s to the Global head of Investment and to the GroupM EMEA CEO
  • SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • In partnership with local investment heads, overseeing and quality controlling the design , development and implementation of the GroupM Global investment strategy.
  • This will require evaluating local investment challenges , understand ing needs and ensuring markets develop strategies accordingly including people and organisational needs, partnership needs, tools and system needs, targets and tracking needs etc.

    KPIs to be set for key local investment leaders accordingly with the support of local management. Note, t he role does not involve direct negotiation with media owner or technology partners which will be managed fully by local teams or the Global head of Partnerships Adtech (Ed Fanning) .

  • Ensuring GroupM Investment deliver competitive pricing and activation across key markets, meeting key client investment KPIs and providing competitive offers in new business.
  • This should include the recommendation of a proper pitch pricing process to be put in place if needed with an agency aligned approach ( e.

    g. the formation of "pitch boards") to prioritize pitches, explain and agree pricing and ensure there is a joined up approach that everyone owns.

    We also plan to launch a new Global Pricing and Accountability team to act as a service hub for our agencies, managing pitch pricing (initially) and potentially client accountability (longer term) on key global accounts out of London.

    The Deputy Head will need to oversee ensure the success of this launch. KPIs to be identified and drafted Vs delivery of this plan for local investment leads e.

    g. improved pitch win rates from XX to XX, improved account profitability from XX to XX, etc.

  • Managing senior regional investment leaders (exact reports TBD).
  • Supporting the agencies in managing key clients, both globally, regionally and locally across both client reviews and new business activity as needed.
  • Working closely with the Global Investment CFO and Specialty Brands teams to understand and set financial targets and with the local market teams to ensure these are met and helping with support to achieve this as required ( e.
  • g. ensuring targets are set, trackers are in place, investment strategies support the creation of inventory, sales kits are produced etc).

  • Supporting the agencies through developing a clear auditor management strategy for key auditors based out of London. Developing relationships with senior auditing staff as needed.
  • Acting as the global investment voice to auditors.

  • Supporting the implementation of key global strategies and other ad hoc projects as required by the Global head of Investment ( e.g. Project Elmo).
  • Cultivating and maintaining a strong trusted relationship with key internal clients, specifically the EMEA Regional and key market GroupM CEOs and CFOs , as well as liaising with the globa l agency lead ers based in London.
