Have you a heart to see positive change in the lives of people who are in trouble, and a genuine belief in their ability to make such changes?
Release from prison is a disorientating and daunting experience for many. Ex-prisoners are often unsure of the direction they want to take in life and do not know who will be there to meet them .
if anyone! Peninsula Initiative Community Chaplaincy (PICC) is committed to helping people leaving prison to settle successfully into the community across Devon, Cornwall and West Somerset through practical support and mentoring.
We work closely with statutory, voluntary and especially faith organisations to help link people into the support networks that they need.
We are actively seeking to strengthen our team of Community Chaplains to work with men and women both in custody and in the community.
At the same time, we wish to develop our work with female prisoners and ex-prisoners so are particularly keen to receive enquiries from women applicants.
There is an occupational requirement for applicants to actively embrace the faith ethos and values of PICC and the successful applicant will have the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people, from aged 15 to 80! Some weekend work will be involved.
Full-time / part-time employment considered.
