Description MAIN FUNCTION : Provides all aspects of clerical and routine clinical functions for all of the GFP Primary Care departments.

  • Candidate must be willing to travel to all of the practices to support staff and providers. Requirements EDUCATION : 1. High school graduate;
  • additional training in Medical Assisting. 2. Graduate of recognized Medical Assistant diploma program

    EXPERIENCE : A minimum of six months experience in a similar environment required; computer proficiency required including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, internet browsing and medical practice management.

  • Knowledge of insurance company procedures and policies; government, legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities;
  • CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS coding; anatomy and medical terminology; and basic mathematics.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS : Ability to function under pressure of time demands. Position requires eye-hand and gross body coordination skills;
  • extensive walking. Position requires the ability to concentrate on details in spite of interruptions and attend to tasks for more than 30 minutes at a time.

    Individuals must be able to understand and relate theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.
