We are currently looking to recruit caring and enthusiastic support workers on a full time basis.
Within this service we support 3 young adults with a learning disability. Your support will allow them to access the community and engage with new activities as well as everyday activities such as shopping and meal preparation.

You must be able to demonstrate a real commitment to Mencap and the work we do alongside the wonderful people we support.
We are looking for people with a can-do’ attitude who are strongly motivated, outgoing, caring and have a calm demeanour when needed.
As well as our award winning Induction programme, you will receive additional bespoke training for this service, covering a number of other skills, such as : Peg feeding, Epilepsy, Dysphagia, in addition to specialist training for specific interventions.

Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. This service will be requiring staff to cover shifts across a 24 / 7 pattern.
You will need to be able to work flexibly across a range of different shift patterns, including various day shifts, evenings and weekends, as well as sleep in duties.
We will be recruiting a separate team for the Waking Night shifts, so if you are interested in working nights, we would love to hear from you too.
We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota will be prepared well in advance Got a request, something special going on?

Please note that the role will involve manual handling and supporting people will all aspects of their personal care.
You don't need previous experience! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
