We are currently seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function within Debt Managers (Services) Limited and own all aspects of the financial strategy.

About the role

As Finance Director you will work with the Executive Committee to grow the business and formulate the strategy, communicating current results in a way that helps Exco determine short term focus and longer term strategic changes.

You will produce financial analysis for the business to assist in the formulation and execution of the strategy and play an integral role in the commercial success of the business through expert analysis of new and existing opportunities.

As a member of the Group Finance Leadership team, you will contribute to the Group Finance strategy, its formulation and execution and liaise with central functions including tax and treasury and group HR.

You will lead and develop the Finance team to deliver a World Class Finance function, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Finance and delivering all outputs to the highest standards from operational finance transactions to Financial planning and analysis and reporting.

The role has a broad remit with the opportunity to play an integral part in the commercial success of both Debt Managers (Services) Limited and the wider Group, it is also a 'hands on' role with accountability for

  • Management of annual and half yearly external audits, ensuring numbers do not change and minimal audit recommendations.
  • Interaction with Group tax functions to facilitate production of VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
  • Finance risk profile and management.
  • Pricing decision support for new and existing opportunities.
  • Review of funding requirements for new opportunities in partnership with Group Treasury or external funding providers, to ensure capital available for new business.
  • Approval of payroll and annual pay round.
  • Management of certain supplier relationships and review business cases for new suppliers or expenditure, providing appropriate challenge and ensuring new projects deliver added value.
  • Liaison with clients and prospects regarding finance related matters including migration of paying direct debit files, due diligence, oversight and audit queries.
  • What you will bring

    You will be a commercially driven qualified accountant with significant post qualified experience in a similar organisation or industry, ideally consumer credit or outsourcing.

    You will have a Strong technical grounding with a deep understanding of what commercial decisions mean and the impact they have on the P&L.

    You will have proven leadership ability within a growing business that has demonstrable experience of taking a function on a journey with them, managing change and driving excellence.

    You will possess relevant IT skills, particularly Excel and accounting packages, knowledge of SUN is desirable.
