Featurespace are looking for a Senior Build Engineer who will be responsible for developing, supporting, and automating release processes across Featurespace, handling technical release problems, and improving out manual issues wherever possible.
Working with engineering, devops, and delivery the will ensure we can get our platform out to customers with as minimal friction as possible.

Day to Day
Ensure release processes are followed : spending time guiding and training implementation and data science to ensure the process works seamlessly.
Working with the DevOps team to ensure all our automated pipelines are sufficient and working across the company.
Being the point of call when automation fails and proactively keeping our screens green.
Tracking and ensuring correct dependencies and versions of software releases outside of the company are valid and reproducible.
Continuous improvement of the release management processes and tools (CI, YouTrack, GitLab), technical documentation, and internal dev infrastructure (load balancers, artefact repositories.)
Ownership of security validation of components : updating our third-party software based on vulnerability scanning reports.
Branching and merging of Featurespace code where appropriate.
Back- and forward-porting software changes when required.
Monitor and manage Openstack usage.
Working knowledge of source control (git), build tools (maven), scripting (bash / python), and the ability to glue different tools together
Highly organised and detail oriented
Good writing, verbal, communication skills, people skills and concern for high standards
Ability to take on a varied and busy workload with a proven track record for delivery
Ambitious and smart; willing to learn and get up to speed quickly
Experience of work tracking tools (JIRA, Trello) helpful
Knowledge of agile concepts as well as software development methodologies or a willingness to learn
A general level of programming knowledge and concepts, e.g. bash, python, compilers
A general understanding of Unix.
