We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer atour site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be looking after the design of navigationsystems which form a vital part of the overall combat system deployed oncurrent and future submarines in operation with the Royal Navy.
This role will provide you the opportunity to work with cutting edgesystems and platforms, being faced with a diverse set of engineering challengesand issues unique to this industry.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer will involve :
Working in the navigation team, providing support to in service combatsystems and designing new systems for future submarine programmes
Taking the lead on Electrical design projects, Supporting progressreviews, design reviews and quality audits
Answering queries from the customer related to in-service issues andworking closely with the in-service support teams to resolve
Supporting the Delegated Technical Authority in defining and managingthe navigation system requirements set
Supporting the design of navigation systems from requirements through todelivery for future submarine programmes
Supporting design change for existing systems Your skills and qualifications : Essential
Degree level qualification or equivalent experience, in relevant STEMsubject (Engineering / Physics / Maths / Science)
Ability to generate technical reports Electrical engineering experience (maintenance or design) Desirable Understanding of systems engineering principals Experience within the marine / defence industry Experience of systems architecture and design What we're looking for in you :

Complex Systemsand Support :
Complex Systems and Support (CS&S)is part of BAE Systems Submarines. We predominantly supply to the UK MoDbut with smaller derivative work done in support of international Customers.
