Product Manager (Technical Transfer)

Aquapak Polymers is a developer, manufacturer and distributor of a strong, fully biodegradable and marine safe polymer resin capable of replacing standard plastics in several everyday applications.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Technical product manager to join the technical team. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will take responsibility for a functional sector of either Blown Film, Injection Moulding or Thermo-forming .

The role is responsible for key aspects of development of partnership projects with our conversion and development partners.

The role :

To manage the technical product realisation / commercialisation process of Aquapak Polymers' products into effective production processes, to meet the needs of customers.

Through conducting trials to support the development of the 'process flow' and the transfer of tested formulations into the defined production process for external customers and partners.

To support the effective advancement of the Aquapak business through the solution-focussed delivery & supervision of technical trials and new product applications for customers, including problem-solving analysis and feedback to all parties.

To communicate both internally and externally on commercial opportunities and technical transfer activities and record progress to meet internal procedures and KPI's and external stakeholder needs, including OEMs, customers, external bodies, partner organisations etc.)

What we are looking for :

A strong track record in the polymer / plastics industry in the development of applications in both a technical or commercial environment.

You will also need :

  • BSc / Degree / HNC in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Production Engineering
  • Technical knowledge of specialist polymers & films
  • At least 5 years'+ experience in similar specialist polymer production-based role, including product realisation in any of the following, blown films, coatings, lamination, metallisation, injection moulding / thermoforming.
  • Project management experience
  • Additionally, your will have an interest in Eco-friendly polymers, Circular Economy and end-of-life plastics solutions, knowledge of polymer market in Europe and an IOSH qualification in Health & Safety or any second languages an advantage.
  • You will be able to work independently and as part of a team and able to communicate well with customers and explain technical information in a positive solution-focussed way at all levels.
  • Able to travel both within UK & Europe and spend nights away from home
  • Driving license
