The Network Solutions Engineering team within Bank of America provides end-to-end network and security infrastructure solutions for internal clients, lines of business and external 3rd parties.
Covering the EMEA region, you will be joining a team of 6 and be responsible for working with partners to deliver connectivity that balances business, security, availability and resiliency requirements across a broad spectrum of network technologies and serves as 3rd level escalation for operational issues.

Eliciting, analysing and documenting technical application and service requirements
Hands-on configuration of devices and engineering new services into production
Maintaining designs patterns and providing feedback into architectural standards
Active participation in the change management process
Managing partner requirements across projects and ad-hoc consulting
3rd level escalation for troubleshooting issues on the production network
Identifying and managing the mitigation of risks within the environment
Ensuring documentation is updated to reflect new additions to or modifications in the environment and handed into Operations successfully
Implementation and day 1 support of configuration changes
Core skills :
Excellent implementation, architecture and engineering experience across routing, switching and security technologies
Capability to translate high level architectures into low-level technically viable plans for Bank of America
Deploying and manipulating dynamic routing protocols and firewall rules
Ability to apply business analysis skills and expertise
Strategic thinking, planning and presentation
Nice to have :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience and understanding of the stock exchange and low-latency trading network connectivity
Ability to retain focus on priorities in dynamic business environment
Willingness to embrace and promote the use of software development to automate network processes
Understanding of financial institution culture and the associated compliance landscape
Ability to demonstrate solid analytical and technical skills with deep experience in network / security engineering
Able to communicate with a wide range of partners from technology and business peers through to senior management levels
To work effectively as part of a global team across multiple time zones
A willingness to work outside of normal UK working hours where necessary
Capable of quickly learning new technologies and procedures
Communicates in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work as part of a team or independently
