As Project Manager for Engineering you will be part of the Global Engineering Organisation and your key responsibilities will include : -

The development of capital projects including the execution of front end loading processes. Within these projects you will ensure project financial analysis / justification, project controls, cost estimate validation, benchmarking, forecasting and risk management are all adhered to.

You will ensure that compliance with all relevant Industrial and Construction HSE Programs and processes such as hazard analysis and safety reviews are performed daily and safety records kept up to date.

You will develop strategies to communicate, set parameters, influence across all levels and manage competing expectations to avoid scope creep.

You will ensure project requirements are aligned to eliminate risk and mitigate potential issues.

You will be responsible for the coordination, selection and management of engineering contractors and construction Companies.

You will manage multiple priorities in order to achieve overall Global Business Unit goals.

Key Performance Indicators include :

  • Development of Project Plans
  • Execution of projects to established key metrics
  • Personal and Project HSE Compliance
  • Forecast Accuracy
  • Management and Leadership of third party Contractors
  • Project Management Certification (Desirable)

    Health and Safety Certification (IOSH Desirable)

    Education and Experience

    Educated to degree level in a Mechanical or Chemical discipline.

  • You must have significant Project Management experience and prove successful completion of prior projects (Value 10-15 Million) experience to include;
  • Introduction of new equipment, new process development, facilities projects and building project moves.

  • Project Management Tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • LEAN Manufacturing principles and technical problem solving techniques.
  • Able to lead and influence cross functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate collaboration across different sites and business units.

  • Skills

  • Experience of Capital Project Management (scoping, planning, budgeting, -stage gate process, critical path and earned value analysis)
  • Able to utilise Critical Path method (CPM), PERT and Gantt Charts
  • Self-starter with the ability to direct and prioritise the work of multiple technical and non-technical team members
  • Ability to lead problem solving teams to address complex issues using the best industry practices and most cost effective solutions.
  • Ability to define capital projects including the project scope, the business case justification, results, project costs and project documentation.
  • Upon approval have the ability to manage the capital project including the costs, schedule, group activities and communication.
  • Flexibility to travel to other locations
  • Technical problem-solving ability and work outside normal hours as required by the projects.
