All successful applicants must hold, or be eligible & willing to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC) with the view to progressing to higher level clearance if required.

Your future duties and responsibilities :

The project’s focus is shared ownership and to achieve the customer’s goals. As such, we aim for everyone to be involved in integration, testing, deployment and operations.

As a partner, we all have direct contact with our customer on a daily basis. Everyone can ask questions directly to ensure we build what is really needed.

If you are interested in technology integration, rapid prototyping, regular demonstration of completed work, creating sustainable systems, and thinking ahead but not overcomplicating for today, this will suit you down to the ground.

  • You will be involved in the following;
  • Membership of the Technical Authority team.
  • Designing technical solutions for complex systems.
  • Providing guidance, teaching, coaching and troubleshooting to assist members of a Service team and a Development team.
  • Lead the project’s articulation and resolution of the root cause of technical issues.
  • Lead opportunities to improve the software architecture in line with the project vision.
  • Create quality technical designs ensuring that the functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Support the team during the solution implementation by providing specific technical knowledge.
  • Provide technical team leadership.
  • Provide hands-on work for rapid proofs of concept, troubleshooting of both development and production concerns.
  • Responsibilities :

    You will be part of a group of teams jointly responsible for designing, integrating, building, testing, maintenance and on-going operations of the production platform.

  • Specifically you would be responsible for;
  • Aligning the use of the technology with the business and customer goals.
  • Creating diagrams and explanations to expression system design to a variety of audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the overall software architecture in line with the project vision.
  • Ensure up to date processess and practices are met by following industry developments
  • Be pro-active within the Open Source communities.
  • Meet your personal objectives, which are aligned to the business plan for the financial year.
  • Invest in your own skills development with support from the team and wider organisation, such as self-directed training, conference visits, presentations and instructor-led training.
  • Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

  • Demonstrable experience in at least two of : RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu
  • Demonstrable experience in at least two of : Python, Java, JavaScript, C or C++
  • Deep familiarity with the following tools : ssh, web browsers, bash
  • Deep familiarity with a range of networking protocols
  • Track record of working within an Agile / Scrum team
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and delivering complex solutions
  • Track record of building on top of existing systems
  • Desirable :

  • Knowledge of working within an Agile / Scrum team
  • Knowledge of designing and working with and debugging distributed storage and computation systems
  • Knowledge of deployment and configuration management via Ansible and git
