The Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service has a full time (1fte) vacancy for a Programme Development Worker (PDW) within the South area of the County based in the South Derbyshire (Swadlincote) area.

The PDW posts carry out a wide range of duties supporting the development of programmes, management of delivery staff, promotion and improvement of teaching and learning within DACES provision, liaising with partner agencies and families and monitoring achievement and progression. This includes :

Community learning - Engaging people in learning, supporting progression to other learning, to improve life chances and enhance independence including family learning and learning for personal development and wellbeing.

Provision that includes self-financing or full-cost across the whole curriculum, learning clubs, programme for local businesses, voluntary sector and other public sector organisations.

  • Qualification learning - Development and delivery of employability and qualifications up to Level 2 for adults, including supporting 14-19 programme and adult learner loans provision;
  • to prepare people and help them get into work.

    A casual car user allowance is attached to this post but it is possible for the allowance to be converted to other forms of transport where there is a requirement to undertake travel as part of this post.
