WHAT YOU'LL DO

This role is within BCG’s Knowledge Team (KT) and has a wide variety of responsibilities on a global scale. Key responsibilities include :

  • Manage and mentor a team of six people working in Travel & Tourism. You will manage and coach the team members, help them grow in their role and gain expertise in their core topic of specialization
  • Work with case and proposal teams to support our client work. You will contribute to BCG’s Business development work (leads and proposals) and case work by bringing and developing your own expertise in a Travel & Tourism sector (Airlines, Airport, Hotels, travel distribution)
  • Work with sector leadership to create and develop best in class industry insights & analysis, and contribute to create intellectual property to ensure BCG is cutting edge on Travel & Tourism topics.

    The ideal candidate will have passion in developing the team and will bring expertise in one of the Travel & Tourism industry sectors.

    Key personal attributes that are required to be successful in the role are :

  • Leading and managing a team. The responsibility of the KE Team Manager is to lead the T&T team and enable them to further progress towards developing their expertise and delivering high value added services and products that help BCG succeed.
  • Ability to work autonomously and strong entrepreneurial thinking spirit. The candidate will need to develop a strong business-
  • building focus in order to operate / influence effectively senior stakeholders in an international matrix organization and identify where KT can be deeply involved to better support case teams

  • Consultative approach will be key to succeed in the role when supporting case teams and coaching team members
  • YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

    The key qualifications that are required to be successful in the role are :

  • 10+ years of industry experience preferred, and / or 5+ year of consulting experience
  • Expertise in one or several Travel & Tourism sectors (Hotels, Airlines, Airports, Travel Distribution, Cruise, etc.)
  • Management experience and the ability to lead a team located in several offices (US, Europe and Asia pacific)
  • Excellent English language skills
  • YOU'LL WORK WITH

    The professional filling this position reports to the Knowledge Business Manager of the Consumer Practice Area and will work closely with the other Knowledge Expert and Team Managers from the other sectors part of Consumer in shaping the team strategy.

    He will also play a thought-partner to the Global T&T Sector Leader and the T&T sector leadership team.

    Our knowledge and research specialists collaborate with global colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our clients.

    KT members are aligned to Practice Areas, sometimes serving as members of case or project teams. KT offers insight into a topic or function derived from BCG’s knowledge base and case / project experience.
