Shift Pattern : Working a rotating 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift pattern. You will be required to work both days and nights.


2Agriculture are offering an exciting opportunity for a Mill Technician to join the team at Fairview Mill on a permanent basis.

2Agriculture is an independent milling business which has been supplying feed to the poultry industry for the past 50 years.

Service is at the heart of the team at 2Agriculture where over 250 employees work across five sites. Our feed mills operate to the highest standards set for product quality, with a specialist production team monitoring output ensuring zero or minimal mill downtime.

Our fleet of over 40 Lorries operate 24 / 7 ensuring feed arrives on time and in full, with a real focus on biosecurity prior to delivery, on site and during departure.

Role Profile

Mill Technicians carry out all aspects of the mill production system, ensuring all relevant Health & Safety and quality control procedures relating to the production of compound animal feed are adhered to.

Whilst also conducting basic level routine maintenance and repair to ensure the effective operation of the mill production and intake systems in order to minimise downtime and deliver business objectives.

You will operate in self-management teams, holding responsibility for core decision making during day to day activities and escalating any complex matters to senior management.

Day to day you will carry out the production of compound animal feed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures in order to maximise throughput and feed quality.

This requires operating heavy-duty machinery, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures at all times. You will also conduct daily stock takes and complete statutory records and production sheets, proactively seeking solutions where abnormalities occur.

A vital aspect of this role is the ability to respond to breakdowns and production interruptions by performing reactive maintenance and repairs to production equipment, minimising downtime and assisting in the troubleshooting of potential issues.

You will help to maintain an effective PPM schedule, whilst carrying out 1st line maintenance as instructed on process equipment and the plant in a safe, efficient manner.

In addition, you must maintain work areas to UFAS hygiene standards, ensuring environments are safe & clean.

Essential Skills and Experience Required

To be successful in this role, the desired candidate should have strong experience within a team-based manufacturing or production environment, working proactively with strict safety and quality control procedures and KPI’s.

You should have a minimum of GCSE Level 4 or equivalent in Maths and English. A qualification or apprenticeship in a relevant field is preferred.

We are looking for someone that works effectively as part of a team and collaboratively with other operational areas, establishing good relationships, in order to meet increasing productivity and quality targets.

You should be able to take ownership of work, demonstrating a logical ability to decide on the most appropriate course of action whilst working under minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment.
