A Japanese entertainment company is currently recruiting an experienced In-house Japanese-French Translator, who will be in charge of localisation for computer games, including in-game text, manuals and strategy guides, etc.

Responsibilities will also include completion of various side tasks; for example website translation. The candidate must also be prepared to translate and proofread from English if required.

TYPE : 1 year FTC, full-time

SALARY : depending on experience (please let us know your desired salary)

RESPONSIBILITY :

Translation of computer games-related material

Proofreading of computer games-related material

Lead projects as required

Support the editing team / coordinators / localisation management as required

Collaborate with other languages in order to keep high level of standards / quality across all languages

Skills and experience required :

Fluent English and Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent)

French speaker at native level with creative writing style

Preferably two years’ experience as professional translator (not necessarily as a computer game translator, but gaming experience is desirable)

Proficient in MS Office Package, especially in Excel

Knowledge of translation memory software, in particular Trados, is a plus

Knowledge of local culture for language of expertise

Great attention to details

Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with unpredictable schedules and tight deadlines

Good team-player
