Senior Building Surveyor
To perform the role as senior building surveyor, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex commissions.
Your role and responsibilities will include :
Preparing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports and recommendations.
Providing an effective stakeholder engagement and briefing.
Scoping, estimating and presenting reports.
Undertaking surveys, design and specification services.
Respecting and delivering services in accordance with best practice (and all legislation) in relation to asbestos, health and safety and etc.
Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
Managing a timely and effective post contract administration and final account agreement.
Taking personal responsibility for service delivery.
Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
Guiding a building surveying team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities, where appropriate.
Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
Assisting in the development of new business opportunities with existing and new Mace clients.
Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities.
Working with associate directors and directors to construct bids for new work.
Attending interviews with assistant directors and directors.
Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and products and hence improve the service provided to clients.
Inputting into the formal management of an assistant building surveyors or small building surveying team, to include first round recruitment interviews, input into resource management and attendance at junior staff appraisals.
Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the sense internal database.
Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include :
Previous working experience in a similar role.
Experience in construction or consultancy industry.
Technical knowledge and competency in building surveying.
Good negotiation, presentation and report writing skills.
Strong IT skills.
A degree in building surveying or equivalent.
