This is a position for an Asian Equity analyst in the 4Factor team. The 4Factor team manages just over $55bn in long-only equity assets, of which over 30% is in Asia and Emerging Market mandates and $10bn in dedicated regional Asian mandates.
We are currently looking to add an equity analyst to our global team, with an Asian Equity (ex Japan) focus. The position will be in London.
Scope of Role :
This role is to perform detailed equity analysis on companies in Asia Pacific ex Japan Markets. Key attributes for the role include the ability to perform detailed equity analysis and provide investment recommendations to the Asia, Emerging Market and Global teams in the 4Factor group.
The role requires a strong understanding of financial accounting, equity valuation techniques and an ability to present clear compelling investment cases to the team.
An in-depth understanding of behavioural finance theories would also be an advantage. The role is demanding and requires flexibility, accuracy, and an ability to meet tight deadlines.
The role requires a proactive and organised approach with an excellent eye for detail. A client friendly, team player approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities (to include but not limited to) :
Coverage responsibility for Asia Pacific ex Japan, covering a variety of sectors and countries. The role is a generalist one within this region.
The analytical role is specifically - and solely - focused on identifying strong bottom-up investment ideas.
Production of written research notes, investment recommendations, monitoring existing portfolio investments.
Development of deep company knowledge and ability to accurately communicate information throughout the broader 4 Factor team
Contribute to portfolio management of the dedicated Asia ex Japan and Asia Pacific ex Japan mandates.
Involvement in managing portfolio risks
Contribute investment recommendations to the Global, Emerging Market and other portfolio teams in the 4Factor group
Assist in reporting to clients, including presenting performance information and writing investment reports.
Expected to co-ordinate with / present to Investec Asset Management’s global sales team. The candidate will be expected to market to existing and potential clients in due course.
Training, self-development and examinations (where deemed appropriate) are vital for the development within the role.
Knowledge & experience
Demonstrate experience which is equivalent to, or have at least, 5 years’ experience analysing Asia Pacific ex Japan equities, preferably on the buy-
side for an institutionally recognised investment house
Candidate to be at least CFA part 3, and candidates who have already qualified as CFA will receive preference.
