BDO are currently undertaking a major technology and business transformation programme including the implementation of Workday for HR, Finance, PSA and Payroll.
This will replace the current PeopleSoft solution and a number of satellite applications. The programme delivery commenced in May 2019 and is phased over approximately 2 years.
Alongside the programme, BDO are building a new support model and team to manage the ongoing support and change activity beyond the programme.
The new support structure will also cover other BDO systems being implemented such as Microsoft Dynamics and a new risk on boarding system called Intapp.
These application are part of a wider technology and business change initiative called Switch.
The anticipated duration of the phase 1 delivery will be 12 months (from May 2019). The programme will then deliver phase 2 (scheduled October 2020) and phase 3 (scheduled Q3 2021).

The Workday Functional lead will be required to work as part of the support and change team for Workday whilst also being embedded into the HR team to provide support and leadership on all functional change and configuration within Workday and related systems.
Serve as a strong consultative partner to HR, supporting HCM in Workday and related systems
Input to Workday roadmap
Review, sign-off and implementation plan for all workday releases
Work closely with business leads, SMEs and senior managers in understanding, documenting and interpreting requirements into system solution
Translate new requirements and functionality to testing and training teams and provide support to testing activities including business acceptance
Keep up to date with trends and impacts and be active in the Workday community and beyond raise and vote on brainstorms
Translate requirements, functionality and business knowledge to Workday and third party support teams to enable greater understanding
Review system configuration, master data values, business process and security change plans prepared by Workday HR Systems Manager including schedule, auditing and testing and approve within the Switch governance model
Facilitate sign off from systems owners and key stakeholders in system and configuration changes
Support the Workday Manager in day to day activities
Support and manage the Workday System Administrators providing functional and business knowledge and process details where required
Provide support to other systems connected to the Workday ecosystem including Ascend (invoice scanning and OCR), DocuSign (digital signatures)
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with HR, Finance and IT clients at all levels of the business
Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients’ needs and situation
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects
Experience and understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management and HR business processes
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with HR and IT clients
Ability to prioritise workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
Previous experience of working in similar lead role with Workday or similar system experience
Have completed HCM Fundamentals Training
Experience of using ServiceNow or similar service management software
Knowledge and experience of cross functional working on both HR and finance processes an advantage
Experience of working within a professional services organisation an advantage
