Like a lot of technology companies, we are mostly working remotely at Starling and we think we will be for a while to come.

We’re open to applications from across the UK but our preference is that you’re located within a commutable distance to either our Cardiff or Southampton office, so that when we’re able to see each other and collaborate in person again, we’re ready to go!

Our Workplace Technology team looks after all the technology our employees use on a daily basis, making sure we have access to everything we need to work efficiently.

It’s very important to us at Starling Bank that staff have the best possible experience with the technology they use on a daily basis, as such we invest heavily in the latest Workplace Technology solutions.

We run a mixture of desktops and laptops, overwhelmingly on macOS, supplemented by a number of SaaS applications. Our computers are managed by a combination of Jamf and Workspace ONE, and sit on our Meraki network.

We have zero physical infrastructure on site barring networking, so you won’t find Active Directory here; instead we use SSO, and HR as a directory.

The Workplace Technology Analyst assists in the provision, maintenance and management of all IT hardware and software, as well as being the first point of contact for support requests and assisting the Workplace Technology team in providing remote support across all our offices.

We enable our customers to manage their money 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whenever they need us, we will be there. As such, we are looking for people who can commit to 37.

5 hours a week (5 x 7.5 hour shifts), usually between 7am-10pm Monday to Sunday

Requirements

The Workplace Technology Analyst will be responsible for the following :

  • Ensuring staff have access to the equipment, software, and services they need to work efficiently.
  • Supporting the onboarding and offboarding of staff.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as patching and rolling out configuration changes
  • Helping the team to manage asset inventory, procurement, repairs, auditing and licensing.
  • Being the 1st line of support for all Workplace Technology issues.
  • The ideal candidate for the role would :

  • Be able to succinctly communicate basic technology issues to other members of the Workplace Technology team.
  • Be able to talk non-technical staff members through troubleshooting steps
  • Be organised, efficient and have a great attention to detail
  • Work with other members of the Workplace Technology and Security teams to apply solutions to problems.
  • Have good macOS knowledge and proven experience supporting and managing macOS devices in a professional environment. Experience with Jamf or similar MDMs would be very beneficial.
  • Have an interest in task automation (e.g. scripting and API integrations between systems).
  • Be able to document technology processes
