Sanctioning Workflow Developer


A new opportunity has become available for a Sanctioning Workflow Developer within our Risk Finance and Treasury Technology team.

This dedicated team of professionals is responsible for delivery initiatives to a variety of business areas : Front Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Control, Compliance, Supervisors, Regulatory relations and Operations.

Additionally, the group is also responsible for delivery of a system for pricing and risk valuation of those trades that exceed the specifications of the core trading system.

The group is currently transforming the technology infrastructure to compute and report Market Risk in line with Barclays strategic initiatives.

What will you be doing?

  • Agile development using HTML5, Angular JS
  • Delivering solutions within a DevOps environment with a focus on automation of testing and deployment via standardised framework
  • Working closely with global development team members in other regions, participating in and contributing to technical discussions
  • Communicate effectively with the local development manager and team
  • Responding promptly to requests from support teams in order to resolve user queries and handle technical issues that are out of scope for the support staff
  • Making technical updates to reduce the manual support overhead for the system
  • Working with BAs and Team Leads to understand the functional scope of project work and questioning decisions
  • Drafting initial design proposals for reviews by team leads and architects, and contributing to detailed technical specifications where appropriate
  • Liaising with the Design authority and IT teams in other regions to ensure that all new components fit within guiding principles.
  • What we’re looking for :

  • Software development expertise and experience using HTML5, Angular 4+, Typescript, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS
  • Skills that will help you in the role :

  • Knowledge / experience of C#, Web API, SQL Server
  • Knowledge / experience of Credit Risk
  • Understanding of the full software development lifecycle and experience practicing agile Agile methods
  • Hands on experience with Git or other source code control tools
  • A keen interest to learn and pick up new technologies
  • Where will you be working?

    This role will be based in our Aurora house Glasgow office; a stones throw away from Glasgow Central Train Station and the heart of Glasgow.
