About the opportunity
McKesson UK is looking to recruit a Computer Systems Operator to the IT Ops Bridge team at Sapphire Court.
Our Operations Bridge team acts as a 24 / 7 control centre for our UK IT Infrastructure estate and is the primary point of escalation for any incidents relating to our networks, data centres, cloud solutions and other business critical technologies.
Reporting to the Ops Bridge Manager, the Computer Systems Operator will hold responsibility for providing 24 / 7 technical support and monitoring activities to ensure optimal performance and uptime across the UK IT estate.
You will resolve or escalate issues at pace in line with our operating procedures, ensuring all affected users are informed of the impact and updated with progress.
Accurate documentation of all incidents will be key, and you will be encouraged to review and streamline our processes and procedures to strive for continual improvement of the IT Service capability.
Shifts : 147 hours across a 4-week rotation. Includes late nights and weekends
To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate IT professional with a breadth of experience across enterprise infrastructure service and support environments.
You will have technical knowledge in various infrastructure solutions, including Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, AD), solarwinds, networks, telephony and Linux / Unix scripting experience.
ITIL Foundation certification is expected, and knowledge of DevOps or other best practice methodologies relating to IT service delivery will give you a distinct advantage.
