The Collections team is made up of 12 experienced Advisors and 2 Managers.
We help mortgage customers to overcome problems that have led to their accounts being in arrears. We deal with customers in an efficient and accurate manner via telephone, email and letter correspondence to service residential and early commercial mortgage arrears customers, complying with regulation and internal policy.

The role of Collections Advisor is really important to us. You will look after some of our more vulnerable customers ensuring The best customer outcome is at the heart of our decision making.
Based in our dynamic Manchester office, you will sit amongst a team of 12 and report to the Collections Managers.
What would your day look like?
Responsible for making key decisions on arrears cases from initial arrears episode to more serious arrears cases; this includes long term financial difficulties and litigation.
Direct contact with customers required across all arrears portfolios Owner occupied, BTL Commercial (early arrears), by phone and email, maintain appropriate contact and records with customers where account payments are in arrears, as per the Collections and Recoveries policy and procedures.
Work with customers to develop required solutions to with a view to achieving the best customer outcome
Set up appropriate repayment plans going forward in line with the bank Forbearance, Conduct and Vulnerable Customer 'VC' policies along with financial conduction authority requirements.
Understanding of the mortgage litigation and recovery processes with responsibly for the issue of final demands and assembling borrower files for enforcement action.
Liaise and manage third party asset managers and conveyancing solicitors in the effective disbursement of property assets through effective sale or auction.
What do we expect of you?
Experience of working in Financial services is essential (preferably mortgages)
Experienced in adhering to Collection processes including 'TCF' and Customer Vulnerability
The ability to deal with customers in difficult situations showing an epithetical approach to customers circumstances
Robust knowledge of conduct risk, mortgage conduct of business (MCOB) and Prudential Regulatory (PRA) rules.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment working to agreed SLA's and workforce planning systems
Good team player skills are essential with a track record of working within a dynamic team
Excellent organisational, communication, numerical and analytical skills.
