Why this role matters
This role defines and delivers the Entreprise Push / Pull Market Intelligence Programme across BT’s three consumer brands, BT, EE and Plusnet.
Acting as the enterprise champion, they understand what drives the market and the competition today, how this could evolve tomorrow and the implications for each of the BT brands, BT, EE and Plusnet.
Long term delivers alternative futures / scenarios for the UK enterprise market, understands what tipping points would trigger them and the implications for BT, its brands and their competitive set.
Medium term the roles (i) understands what lessons BT can learn from overseas markets to further its commercial ambitions as well as (ii) forewarn how the market and competition could change / react to ensure BT stays one step ahead
Short term the role (i) engages with senior decision makers across strategy, marketing / trading and finance to co-define stay awake issues and deliver against them, (ii) assesses our enterprise trading performance and identifies the emerging trends at a market level and the impact on BT as well as (iii) competitors’ performance in enterprise and tactical and strategic drivers behind such performance.
What you'll be doing
Informs and proactively engages with the relevant decision makers at a Commercial brand level, Group / CFU Strategy and Finance for enterprise to consultatively define the set of short and medium term stay awake business questions at a market / industry level
Performs framing, planning, researching all relevant secondary and primary sources, analyses, structures and communicates a relevant recommendation / set of recommendations from the Insight created to inspire better decisions across BT at a market / industry level
Structures the business questions into a set of push-based recurring briefings and pull-based briefings that when communicated inspire better decisions across BT at a market / industry level
Manages cross Insight inputs ranging from self-curated Insight to BT’s own commissioned customer Insight programmes and from 3rd party agencies to new sources of insight effectively to deliver a relevant, pragmatic and timely enterprise briefing / product & decision outcome.
Is accountable for the day-to-day work stack management, timeliness and quality of work produced regardless of input
Accountable for working with the Senior Consumer Market Forecast Manager and the Insight leads across Brand and Strategic Insight, Customer Experience and Consumer Commercial Insight as well as other parts of the business to ensure the enterprise market insight sets the right context (current situation, drivers, why, how performing) and direction associated with the business question in hand on an ad-hoc and regular basis

Operating experience in TMT sector preferred but not essential
Preference for some strategic planning experience and exposure in a customer facing commercial, product or marketing role
Educated to degree level or relevant professional experience
