Role description :

As a Senior Project Manager in our Development Services group, you will be an integrated member of our UK Site Evaluation & Restoration team whose role is to transform underutilised (often brownfield) land into high quality, productive, valuable and sustainable assets.

Our current project portfolio includes several new garden communities, urban regeneration schemes and proposals for new industrial facilities throughout the UK.

The Development Services group delivers the high value coordination skills and insight to oversee multi-disciplinary projects evaluating sites across a range of disciplines to inform development proposals and ultimately bring those schemes forward.

We provide a single point of contact for our clients and ours is a truly collaborative role requiring strong communication skills all supported by the existing team.

There is flexibility as to your choice of location within the UK, however we are ideally looking for someone to be in a broad mid-UK area, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol or Cambridge.

Role accountabilities :

  • Support the delivery of projects alongside the existing teams
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Project Director and / or Project Manager and with the client and ensure effective communication of progress and changes and the resolution of issues
  • Work collaboratively with teams from across Arcadis in different service lines and sector roles to bring the best of Arcadis to our clients
  • Monitor the performance of team members and subcontractors, identifying and then ensuring resolution of any issues, escalating where necessary
  • Produce, review and quality-assure project outputs documentation, reports, specifications) to ensure that they meet or exceed client expectations and Arcadis requirements and comply with national standards and codes of practice
  • Coach, guide and provide technical advice to junior team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry
  • Contribute actively within the development services team and support our continued strive towards excellence by sharing best practice, preparing lessons learned etc
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Chartered or Professionally Qualified with a relevant external body.
  • Experienced working within a local authority or property development setting and be conversant with the town and country planning system, project management skills and the basics of business case development.
  • Professional experience and proven track record of consultancy work related to understanding UK T&C planning, project management, business case development.
  • Experience in property development, surveying, infrastructure engineering or environmental impact assessment would be advantageous
  • Ability to work both within both small, dispersed teams and larger multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects to tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Commercial & technical risk awareness.
