The Opportunity

The Advisory Service Delivery team is one of EY’sfastest growth areas and we are based in a modern office in Newcastle citycentre.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Crime Executive tojoin our Newcastle team. In this role you will be applying your experience andspecialist knowledge to help clients meet their regulatory obligations around avariety of compliance matters, for example, Transaction Monitoring, AlertClearing and Customer Due Diligence.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a FinancialCrime Executive in our Advisory Service Delivery team, you will be working withglobal EY teams to deliver high quality work to our clients, which willprimarily be from the financial sector.

You will help our clients gain comfortby using your technical knowledge of compliance matters. You will work with theleadership team to speak directly with clients to provide them with advice andrecommendations.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of FinancialCrime projects. You will be supporting management to lead teams working onAnti-

Money Laundering and Know Your Client engagements.

Client Responsibilities :

  • Work effectively as a team member sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
  • Assist with the mobilisation of project teams and design of the processes to be followed
  • Support engagement management activities such as finance tracking, billing, resource management
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel, whilst building strong internal relationships within Advisory and across other services
  • Support bids and proposals for new projects and client opportunities
  • Assist in preparing reports and outputs that will be delivered to clients and other parties
  • People Responsibilities :

  • Contribute to people initiatives including training, buddying with new joiners etc.
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
  • Support the development of junior colleagues
  • Skillsand Attributes for Success

    History of working for large scale organisations

    Experience of leading teams to carry out; alertclearing, PEP / Sanctions screening, Transaction Monitoring, Negative NewsScreening plus Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)

    Leadership, project management and teamwork skills

    Creative, independent with good problem solving skills

    Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication andwriting skills

    Demonstrated integrity within a professionalenvironment

    To qualify for the roleyou must have

  • A strong academic background to degree level or equivalent experience in a directly related role
  • Solid Financial Crime / CDD / KYC / AML background
  • Knowledge of UK, European and Global AML Frameworks
  • A relevant professional qualification, for example, ICA Advanced Certificate in Anti Money Laundering or equivalent
  • Ideally, you’ll alsohave

  • Experience and understanding of Financial Services
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring junior team members
