About the role

Tesco Maintenance are looking to recruit an experienced Group Services Drainage Manager to cover the North of England. At Tesco, our stores and offices couldn’t function without the support of our Maintenance Team.

The role of a Group Services Drainage Manager is an integral part of this team, leading a multi-skilled team to deliver exceptional service to customers across the wider business.

Working collaboratively with Group Maintenance Managers and Group Service Managers, the Group Services Drainage Manager helps ensures the business is able to continue to deliver its promise of serving Britain’s shoppers a little better every day.

You will be responsible for

  • Provide a platform ensuring our premises are safe to work and shop in.
  • Ensure that processes and all works are carried out in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Putting community, customer and colleague welfare at the heart of every decision made.
  • Following Tesco Maintenance Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
  • Communicating with the team and the wider business team.
  • Driving problem solving, including identifying key issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Managing relationships with contractors for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive tasks including ongoing performance management.
  • Delivering non-negotiable great results whilst providing exceptional service and standards, demonstrating clear year on year cost and efficiency improvements.
  • Delivery overall budget via controlling maintenance costs and budget planning relating to people, store and 3rd party expenditure.
  • To ensure that areas you are responsible for deliver the predefined KPI’s.
  • Carrying out thorough store inspections to monitor the condition and upkeep of portfolio of stores.
  • Lead through change and improve capability and standards.
  • Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with stakeholders, managing expectations where required.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with statutory safety regulations across stores e.g. Waste Disposal, Water Regulations.
  • You will need

  • Experience within a similar technical and management role.
  • Experience of managing a remote team of 15+
  • IOSH
  • UK driving licence
  • Microsoft office suite
  • Desirable experience :

  • NRSWA training Chapter 8
  • NEBOSH
  • NVQ Level 4 in Plumbing
  • NVQ Level 3 in Water Jetting
  • CDM Regulations
  • ACOP L8 Regulations
  • CPC / Operator Licence Experience
