Purchase Ledger/ Accounts Assistant

Due to a significant increase in the volume of work for the Accounts team, we are looking to recruit an additional Purchase Ledger / Accounts Assistant to join Weston Homes Plc .

Reporting into the Senior Accounts Assistant this role will work closely with 3 other Accounts Assistants with close interaction with the wider Accounts and Finance team.

Whilst this role will predominantly focus on Purchase Ledger, successful candidates will be involved in other accounts duties including but not limited to the following :

Key Deliverables :

  • Accurate and timely data entry of all purchase invoices and electronic upload to COINS and Google.
  • Accurately matching invoices with delivery notes and orders.
  • Processing Goods Received Notes with orders on COINS
  • Ensuring invoices are in accordance with relevant purchase order
  • Chasing Suppliers and Site Teams for proof of deliveries
  • Checking and committing of orders on COINS
  • Electronic filing of all invoices, delivery notes & orders
  • Checking supplier statements
  • Processing Weekly payment runs by BACS
  • Dealing with supplier invoice queries
  • Timely liaison with Buying Teams and Suppliers to resolve queries
  • Distribution of invoices to relevant departments for approval via email
  • Effective management and action of the Purchase Ledger Inbox
  • Provide support for sub-contractor and sales ledger with invoice entry and matching remittance advices as required
  • Supporting other team members as required
  • Any other duties as commensurate with the post
  • Skills and Experience :

    Successful candidates must have previous experience within Accounts and be able to demonstrate experience of Purchase Ledger duties.

    Candidates must also possess the following :

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • An enthusiam and keeness to learn
  • Able to manage workload accordingly
  • Previous experience of processing / invoice or administration at volume
  • Confident use of Excel
  • Previous experience with account based systems is desirable
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English)
