New Distribution Capability (NDC) has the potential to transform airline distribution and is at the forefront of this disruption.
Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has strengthened its technology roadmap and air content offering to customers by investing in it’s air supply products and solutions.
These products include TPConnects, a leading provider of travel technology solutions focusing on NDC (New Distribution Capability) and One Order initiatives from IATA.
Air supply product management support the key objective of sourcing and offering customers the widest choice of airline and travel content globally.
These investments will assist in creating an enhanced customer experience, where consistent and comparable content can be consumed.
We are seeking a proven Senior Product Manager with specific expertise in Pricing, Revenue Management, Data and Business Rules to join our team.
The successful candidate will be the key interface between TP Connects and FCTG, ensuring that technical requirements are delivered in line with our overall strategy, business requirements and within budget.
Be : As a Product Manager, act as the general manager or mini-CEO of Pricing, Revenue Management (RM), & DataLead through influence more than authority, but recognizing that final authority and accountability for the performance of the product rests with the Pricing ManagerFact-driven above all, with choices driven by data, testing and observation rather than opinionsA team player who can determine pricing decisions with in depth understanding of multiple business layer rules & requirements
Know : Is the leading subject matter expert on his or her specific business purpose and interactionsRelevant understanding of different sources of content such as NDC, LCC API & GDSExcel at data warehouse management and maximizing use of assetExcel at analysis, time-ordering optimization, and with relevant experience in the intersection of business, user experience and technology
Do : Build a pricing and revenue management control tower to house and facilitate pricing and rules engine. Develop reporting and analytical toolsEngage with business unit stakeholders and collate pricing needs, rules and requirements for each businessEngage with developers to clearly articulate build requirements and enforce agreed development time linesDevelop process to capture and analysis competitor activityBuild & facilitate the data feed and pricing manipulation of each source of contentApply a process of rigorous testing and revalidation to support all decision making and processesDrive success through continuous testing and performance improvement of the pricing, revenue management and data process Integrate business, user experience and technology to drive company goals
Build functional and sustainable infrastructure to power pricing and RM control tower
Engage directly with TP Connects on development pathway, business requirements and key outcomes required
Engage directly with end customers and the market to determine customer needs and buying behavior firsthand Conduct customer advisory groups / customer input gathering through customer discovery methodologyGather competitive intelligence (internal / external SWOTs) to be the expert on pricing trends beyond the data
Collect, rationalize and share stakeholder pricing needs Discuss with business leaders, product team and key stake holdersBuild useable reporting and data sets for stake holder consumptionOnce agreed, document desired stakeholder business outcomes (goals, themes, etc.
and produce the epics and stories (or other appropriate artifacts) needed for agile development
Prioritization meetings with pricing team Work with others in the pricing team to dynamically iterate and prioritize sprint contentsLead daily meetings, standups, etc.
Participate in development processes on a daily basis to ensure that business needs and revenue optimization outcomes are being achieved
Prepare and manage business outcome documentation Supporting investment / disinvestment cases
Prior experience in pricing and revenue management and data analysis is a strong plus
Strong evidence of complex problem solving
Good communicator; must be adept working with both product and technical team members
Strong project management process knowledge and intense focus on margin improvement
Competitive and customer analysis experience
Familiarity with technology and operations used to build and support the applications
Detail oriented, strong reporting skills
