About the role :

At L3Harris in Tewkesbury, our Intelligence & Cyber International (ICI) division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies to develop and build cutting edge solutions to combat the threats faced by the public and private sectors on a daily basis.

These threats grow more sophisticated every day and we have to stay one-step ahead by continually evolving our tech to prevent the event’.

Due to an internal transfer, we are seeking a Technical Trainer to join our Training Team. This position will report to the Technical Services & Training Manager and join our Trainers who are responsible for the delivery of customer training across our product portfolio.

This position will also support Engineering and Sales & BD in internal and external trials and demonstrations as well as post-sales support responding to customer technical enquiries on behalf of our customer support team.

The successful applicant will be required to collaborate with engineering teams, relevant team members, and customer representatives to define the priorities for curriculum / courseware development and to coordinate completion with product release dates.

They will develop and deliver training presentations and lesson plans from engineering documentation and customer requirements as well as create course materials that ensure participants have a solid understanding of the systems, and the skills needed to operate or maintain their systems in their day-to-day responsibilities.

You must be able to deliver course materials in a both a formal classroom setting and field environment.

As a Technical Trainer you will also be responsible for supporting pre and post sales activities including the planning and delivery of customer facing trials and demonstrations.

Therefore you must have good interpersonal skills and be willing to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Frequent travel worldwide is expected of this position, up to 50% of the time therefore you must have driving licence, passport and be willing to travel.

Responsibilities of the role :

  • Design and deliver training packages
  • Responsible for maintaining demonstration equipment portfolio
  • Support to Sales & BD team in product trials and demonstrations
  • Support Customer Support function in responding to technical queries from customers
  • Support the Engineering team by providing end user feedback into product lifecycle management
  • Experience Required :

  • Proven experience as either a Technical Trainer, field support representative, applications engineer or other engineering role with customer facing responsibilities
  • Strong experience in some of the following technical requirements : Knowledge of the Land CEMA Domain (specifically electronic counter measure and electronic surveillance and associated C2 systems)Knowledge of modern software defined radio architectureBasic knowledge of open standards to radio application design and implementationBasic understanding of training design software e.
  • g. Adobe Captivate, Articulate or similarGood technical understanding of RF principles including common modulation standardsGood understanding of IP networking
