Hexcel is currently seeking an EHS Manager for our Leicester, UK location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations :
Act as the internal expert on regulatory and safety policy issues and develop procedures for compliance as required.
Revise Health and Safety policies accordingly to reflect all current legislation, with training provided to update individuals where necessary.
Investigate First Aids and accidents with Root Cause Analysis tools and follow up the proper implementation of corrective actions
Ensure a dynamic management of the proactive safety programs such as near miss reporting, positive safety interactions, behavioural based safety, including feedback loop and follow up on actions
Deliver technical and behavioural health and safety training to ensure that all staff is trained in accordance with their role.
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.
Lead and support the EHS cultural change
Carry out risk assessments and implement suggested risk mitigation actions, keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that detail improvements.
Train Safety Champions to perform risk assessment themselves.
Ensure compliance to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001 in the future)
Ensure compliance to the Hexcel Standard EHS System
Manage medical surveillance programs; i.e. hearing conservation, respirator protection, personal protective equipment programs, and MDA.
Manage the industrial hygiene and ergonomics programs. Act as facility liaison between the Hexcel Medical Director, Occupational Physician, and the employee to resolve any identified issues
Act as facility EHS liaison between the Hexcel EU EHS Manager to resolve any identified EHS issues and drive continued improvement
Educated to Degree level (preferably engineering / science based) and a Health & safety related qualification e.g. NEBOSH
A practical hands-on approach to the development and implementation of EHS Management Systems including experience of OHSAS 18001, ISO14001
Demonstrable EHS experience in an operational / manufacturing environment
Strong leadership skills to enable cultural change
Internal / external audit experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience of delivering training
Project management skills
