This is a great opportunity to take on a diverse role within our Corporate Services Group here at Historic England. You will be joining our Finance Department leading the Payroll team to deliver payroll services to English Heritage and Historic England.

In this high profile role you will be key to ensuring we deliver on our "Customer Promise" to both organisations through a Shared Service model.

As the subject matter expert in all aspects of technical processes, functionalities and requirements, you will ensure the smooth running of the two payrolls as well as leading and coaching your team.

You will provide a variety of the customer specific payroll data exercises / system processes and be responsible for other PAYE / business expense related activities.

Working in close collaboration with colleagues in the HR Teams of both organisations and the HR Systems Team at Historic England you will be a champion for high standards of efficiencies and service.

You will have led a payroll team in a similar busy and variable customer driven environment. From this experience you will have gained a high level of technical expertise, including the legal requirements for statutory pay and deductions (tax, NI and court orders), along with Employment Status evaluations for consultants and Off Payroll Working (IR35).

With a naturally pro-active approach you will enjoy problem solving and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient outcomes.
