About the Role

The main areas of responsibility will be :

  • Coverage of the French market Management of the relationship with leading French banks, building a strong relationship with clients to become a trusted adviser / partner, understanding clients’ challenges and needs, identifying opportunities, increasing the number and seniority of contacts at each organisation;
  • Development of our client base (smaller size banks); Understanding economic and regulatory trends in the country.

    The role will require regular trips to France to meet with clients / potential clients.

    Management of the French compensation benchmarks. Management, with support of an analyst, of the survey process from data collection to survey production, ensuring appropriate quantity and quality of market data, analysis of compensation trends, in the context of wider global and French business and economic performance.

    Origination, management and delivery of consulting projects. Understanding of clients’ challenges and strategy, identification of consulting opportunities for McLagan and the wider Aon TRP division, origination of new consulting projects, management of consulting projects, and delivery of project to clients.

    Oversight of data management Setting framework for an efficient and secure data exchange, increase of the level of data shared between clients and McLagan, increase of value of market data for client to help them leverage market data in their compensation decisions.

    Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

    About you

    Fluent French is a prerequisite.

    Degree qualified, ideally in a numerate discipline.

    Sound understanding of and interest in financial services / banking capital markets.

    Understanding of compensation and the issues affecting reward structures.

    Would be considered an expert and the go-to person for France and French clients.

    Likely have a supervisory / mentoring role. Would be a person that more junior staff can learn from and takes a proactive role in sharing experience and expertise.

    Good project management skills.

    Driven in client service, origination, and delivers results orientated solutions to often complex problems.

    Able to develop business by understanding a client’s requirements and tailoring approach

    Manages client relationships utilising resources where appropriate (junior staff, senior experts, technology).

    Prioritising requests and managing client’s expectations.

    Excellent analytical skills with a proven record of ability to distil large amounts of data into a coherent message to facilitate decision making.
