Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team.

You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

The Business and Projects team sit within the Powertrain Test Operations team, part of the Product Engineering group, responsible for the provision and operation of Test Facilities and equipment required to support the build, development and sign-

off of the Vehicle Powertrain Components.

The facilities from which they operate are based at both the Gaydon and Whitley sites and currently include a significant number of Engine Test Cells, Vehicle Emission Test Chambers, Hybrid Test, Transmission Test and Automated Mileage Accumulation Facilities, as well as Engine Build and Vehicle Workshops.

The above will expand to include a new range of electrified facilities, testing from virtual component to integrated system level.

As Lead Project Engineer you’ll play a key role supporting the delivery of new facilities for Powertrain Test Operations, and focus on the derivation of customer requirements, specification, procurement, design, integration and delivery of key test facilities.

You’ll drive forward the delivery of defined projects to deliver Powertrain facilities into our portfolio, enabling the realisation of Powertrain’s product portfolio.

You’ll ensure that the facilities meet all legislative and engineering needs, are fully commissioned and signed-off and meet the inter-

operability requirements for the systems to enable testing immediately upon completion.


Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience as a Lead Project Engineer, you’ll have knowledge of Powertrain test facilities, including specification and delivery of test cell systems and previous experience in managing projects of significant value with a strong track record of delivery.

In addition to this you’ll have a sound financial acumen and hands on experience with budget control alongside a methodical, detailed approach to work context.

You’ll have strong analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions.

You’ll also have the ability to present complex data and issues to a varied audience, and experience of problem resolution using structured approaches.
