We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager where you will be accountable for the overall delivery of large and complex IT programmes / a collection of related projects (portfolio programme) in the Customer & Commercial business area.

Deliver Programme and projects contained within them on time & to budget
Full accountability for programme’s scope, quality, time and cost
Support the definition of business case and ensure benefits are identified and tracked
Ensure that programme risks and issues are communicated and mitigated so that the business is kept fully informed of progress, and impact on external customers is minimised
Shape and mobilise and deliver programme with appropriate engagement with senior stakeholders
Ensure programme is planned and resourced effectively, and has a robust and clear delivery approach
Ensure all programmes / projects are delivered in accordance to Whitbread’s project governance structure including Steering Groups, PMO Methodology and funding approvals.
Manage complexities around solution architecture, application migration, integration / data, dependencies.
Manage and coordinate the programme plan, dealing with changes along the way and ensuring stakeholders remain focused on the outcomes of the programme and the benefits for the PI&R business
Develop direct team (Project Managers) and delivery capability of the team
Ensure commercial arrangements with partners are in place and offer value for money. Work with Procurement to achieve the appropriate terms.
Ensure statements of work and contract schedules are robust
Prepare board / steering group packs and chair Programme Board and where required Project Boards (or support Project Manager in preparing for and running such boards).
Attend Exec Steering where required
Support IT Heads to plan / budget future activity within the domain
Support IT Heads to improve the effectiveness of the delivery operating model
What we'd like you to have :
Proven programme management experience
Previous experience managing budgets ranging from £3-10m
Deep understanding of IT solutions that improve Commercial business processes in both B2C and B2B businesses. Will include knowledge of processes for customer acquisition, sales process management, customer care and retention.
Experience in delivering IT solutions in a Customer & Commercial context, for example CRM systems, call centre applications for both sales and customer care teams and marketing solutions
Solid line management experience and the ability to shape teams for future success
Proven experience of programme planning and control techniques, including risk management
Able to change direction on a project if required for delivery and still remain in control
Understanding of technology directions
Passionate in finding ways to continually improve service delivered to customers
