The Volunteer Police Cadet scheme provides a safe environment where young people can learn as individuals, develop positive relationships with the police and actively support the community.
Our cadets will be working alongside police officers and staff at a variety of events and policing operations, leading to them achieving our Police Cadet Volunteering Award.
Some of our cadets have been involved in crime prevention initiatives, large events such as CarFest and Victorious Festival, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and helping the police understand issues from a young person’s perspective
An exciting opportunity has been created as a Volunteer Cadet leader working in their local area, police officers and police staff.
The successful candidate will assist the Unit Leader in the delivery of the volunteer police cadet scheme, and to facilitate cadets sessions, such as cadet drill exercises, Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and to assist with weekly session and community engagement events as required.
The successful candidates will be expected to work 3 hours a week, which may include working the occasion evening or weekend.
We currently have a shortage of leaders in Winchester, Havant, Aldershot, Andover and Hedge End so our priority would be to recruit leaders for these locations.
Availability for a minimum of 1 evening session per month is desirable.
