An Electrical C&I Engineering Discipline Lead is required to support the development and execution of the AGR decommissioning strategy and plan.
The collective group of discipline leads will provide technical support and intelligent customer oversight for their science and / or engineering discipline area, ensuring safe and reliable decommissioning in accordance with all licenses, regulatory bodies, company business strategies and industry best practices.
The discipline leads will support the operational transition through to decommissioning and provide efficiencies and clarity including supporting the Physical Asset Management for the full AGR lifecycle
The disciple leads will provide technical oversight and be the Informed Customer of the technical scope of all AGR deconstruction works from T-2 to FFV +n whilst ensuring customer confidence and no detriment to defuelling timescales.
The discipline leads will provide Technical SQEP input to decommissioning execution of works and provide the associated EDF Energy informed customer role for deconstruction planning.
The roles report to directly to the PGDI, MotA Group Head and deputises as required. There is no formal line management responsibility but may fulfil the delegate group head stand in role.
This is a split site function; the decommissioning group may have staff based at both East Kilbride and Barnwood.
The post holder will establish effective working relationships with peers across the Company to share best practice and to continually improve local and fleet performance.
Key to this is the working relationship across the Nuclear Decommissioning, Post Generation Design Integrity Engineering function.
Provide senior management with an overview of station decommissioning / deconstruction performance and areas requiring attention through the relevant Programme Boards and, provide input to the decommissioning planning process, provides direction / influence and authoritative advice in their technical discipline area.
Lead effective positive engagement with relevant external stakeholders, including other EDF business areas, regulators, Government and Industry bodies.
Develop breadth of technical skills, professional institution involvement and further qualifications, national and International exposure at committees / conferences and business acumen to support succession planning.
The post holder will be qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering, scientific or mathematics discipline and, will normally be a Chartered Engineer or, be professionally qualified and is expected to continue professional development.
