We have a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire span of a project, from the initial concept development, through drawings / specifications, to report preparation and equipment sizing and selection, and finally meaningful engagement during the construction contract.
As a Civil Engineer, you will design and supervise projects designated by your Line Manager. Carry out detailed design and calculations in accordance with either British Standards or Eurocode as directed.
Assist with and prepare specifications, reports and drawings to the design programme. Oversee and direct both CAD and junior engineers as required.
Attend meetings and attend site to review / monitor works and to undertake surveys as required to progress the projects.
We will count on you to :
Assist in design and assist in management of projects, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables, i.
e. reports, specifications and drawings scope for all projects with your Line Manager.
Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, from tender and contract through on-site supervision, to completion.
Ensure projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved set by your Line Manager.
Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
Provide positive contribution to design / project meetings. Maintain regular in house’ design reviews and checks.
Develop and maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
Assist Team Leader with identifying and implementing your personal training, development and CPD requirements.
Assist implementing and managing QA systems and procedures on all projects where appropriate.
Effective management of own time, work and programme for allocated tasks, ensuring that information used is current and suitably recorded.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of timesheets and submit in accordance with reporting formats and deadlines.
Regular update to your Line Manager advising on project timeliness and any changes to projects as they arise.
Develop own technical expertise and performance against objectives, as agreed with your Line Manager.
Undertake any and all related duties, as may reasonably be required by Graduate / Engineer responsibilities.
Implement Company Health and Safety. Ensure all designs respond to the CDM regulations.
Assist with Project Archiving at end of a Project Completion.
Continuous adoption of all Civil engineering rules and regulations, endeavouring to ensure protection of the Companies reputation and Professional Indemnity at all times.
Adhere to the requirements under the graduate training scheme and develop towards chartership status
Required Qualifications :
Educational qualifications to a degree level or equivalent are desired.
Civil Engineer preferably chartered.
Data Centre experience
Excellent communication skills.
Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
Competent knowledge of following software, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Microdrainage, Vehicular Tracking software.
The ability to project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Personable and a can do’ attitude with resource management experience.
Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients.
To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively.
