You will need to use your skills, knowledge, experience and training to ensure the right materials at the right time is delivered for our Operatives.
You will be responsible for the efficient and effective management and upkeep of the Materials Service Depot; you will also be responsible for the management of Materials team ensuring they are efficient and effective in their roles by following the right processes and procedures.

The most important elements relating to your work are -
To manage and develop the Materials Store man ensuring regular One-to-One’s are conducted and personal and service objectives are identified which further develops their skills and knowledge, and improves the service delivered.
To Manage and develop delivery drivers conducting work observation assessments to identify personal and service objectives to be achieved, which further develops skills and knowledge of the delivery driver, and improves the service delivered.
Escalate to the Materials Service Manager any serious events or occurrences that need to be addressed urgently, and highlight key issues and trends that could affect the materials service performance longer term if not addressed.
Be accountable for Health, Safety and Welfare of the Depot ensuring company practices and policies are being followed, and that Drivers are driving safely with due care and attention at all times.
Carry out absence management procedures, undertaking return to work interviews, and performance reviews where required.
Proactively supervise the performance of the team so material orders are efficiently and effectively delivered & collected, supporting and coaching the team as required in the achievement of the right materials at the right time.
Working closely with the Primary Supplier and their Pickers ensuring efficient and effective supply of materials ordered.
The Required Qualifications for the Role
Technical expertise, qualifications or apprenticeship in a trade skill (Desirable).
Have a full driving licence.
The Required Experience for the Role
People management experience.
Experience of working in Supplier’s Merchant and Supervising and Managing a Team.
Have knowledge of the materials and methods used in the maintenance of social housing.
Good understanding of the Geographical Portsmouth City area including streets, the best routes, and travel times between different locations.
