Responsibilities
To implement a Product Marketing function in the Encoder Products Division :
Lead a team of Product Marketing Engineers who oversee Renishaw’s optical encoder product portfolio
Manage the overall market offering for the product portfolio
Gather and analyse market data for our current and future product portfolio
Generate new product marketing requirements and develop the competitive product value propositions
Establish competitive and profitable commercial models
Orchestrate effective marketing promotions to drive revenue
Understand customer requirements and needs to develop future variants
Contribute to product development strategy and product portfolio management
Key requirements
A degree in engineering or science based subject, or 5 years working in a technical role
An understanding of the product development process covering the following subjects :
Determining customer requirements and translating them, through the development process, into complete products.
Product life cycle management, analysis and the adoption life cycle
Relationship management
Pricing strategy
Sales training / support
An understanding of distribution requirements.
Willingness to travel globally
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office.
Evidence of effective management supervision and support of others
Works well with customers, engineering and management.
Desirable requirements
A background in any of the following areas would be desirable :
Motion systems, linear motors and precision stages
Electronics SMT
Semiconductor processing and handling
Machine tool manufacturing
Flat Panel Display manufacturing machines
System integration
Ability to speak other languages
Strong technical background and commercial awareness.
