Job Description

The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for an Operations Analyst to work within the Operations team.

The successful candidate will be required to lead, coordinate and liaise a range of continuous improvement / development initiatives as an output of operational activities across Assessment & Data Services (ADS) while identifying issues and enabling their resolution in order to achieve ADS strategic aims.

In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties :

  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships engaging with key stakeholders to shape effective and efficient service delivery in order to inform / improve service provision and to develop relevant business policies and processes
  • Plan, lead / manage, deliver and evaluate a wide range of projects including the production of documentation throughout the project life cycle in order to meet project and live delivery deadlines and fulfil the requirements of all stakeholders
  • Manage identified User Acceptance Programmes including identifying / securing / managing UAT resource, production of test plans, identification of data and environment requirements and reporting UAT outcomes
  • Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience :

  • Be trained in lean’ techniques with proven experience of embedding the theory into practice
  • Have project experience with a strong understanding of the project lifecycle
  • Ability to work on own initiative in pressurised situations and to constantly changing deadlines
  • Have experience in directing business change including business process change, requirements gathering and systems analysis
  • Ability to initiate and lead on projects or activities with multiple dependencies across business areas
  • Experience of MS Project would be advantageous
  • Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 9 (Degree or SVQ4) and / or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
