Department / Practice : Program Management

Job Purpose and primary objectives : · To be a key player in end to end delivery of complex transformation initiatives from inception to delivery.

This could be (for example but not limited to) traditional projects or an aggregated set of initiatives of varying sizes aligned to achieving specific strategic objectives and target design models (Business, Operating, People, Technology, etc.

Full accountability for the overall scope, timeline, budget, resourcing, dependencies, risk / issues and benefits of the initiative(s) or subset of the portfolio, ensuring appropriate assurance, governance and reporting is in place and that Sponsors and Key Stakeholders are fully engaged.

  • Provide leadership, motivation and vision to constituent teams, through matrix management, to drive high performing teams.
  • Establish the appropriate delivery model, governance and structure for key initiatives to enable successful delivery of required business outcomes by wider delivery teams, ensuring compliance with Change Lifecycle Governance.
  • Ensure that all relevant commercial agreements are appropriate and in line with the agreed Delivery Model(s), and manage supplier(s) accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the sponsor and other key stakeholders· Demonstratable experience in handling Transformation Program / s with multiple Projects preferable within the space of BFSI.
  • Added advantage will be if the experience is with carrying out a Payments Transformation Program.· Support the achievement of department objectives and business improvement initiatives by sharing and applying best practice and lessons learned to build the team capability and to demonstrate / promote the value of Program Management services to the wider business community.

  • Key Skills / Knowledge : Functional / Technical (Role Specific)Essential· Programme or project management accreditation (PRINCE2, MSP, APM, Agile) or equivalent in practical experience.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to manage and resolve risk and competing / conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent planning, coordinating and organising skills· Excellent problem solving skills, utilising good practice and previous experience· Proven project delivery track record, especially with complex change initiatives that may have a significant degree of IT development.
  • Experience of budgetary management and control. Desirable· Educated to degree level (or equivalent)Sector (Essential)· Understanding of financial services industry, markets and competitors· Understanding of how financial services organisations operate and the associated regulatory environment· Awareness of the Mutual Sector and the needs and interests of MembersCommercial · Ability to convert strategic priorities and goals into operational plans· Ability to work with autonomy and make operational decisions· Experience of delivering organisational change· Ability to manage budgets and resources· Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, corporate governance, quality assurance and risk management· Knowledge of business planning processes· Experience of leading teams and services· Understanding of related functions and / or services outside of the role’s direct remit.
  • Experience of managing a set of internal and external stakeholder relationshipsInterpersonal · Leadership skills· Ability to lead and motivate small to medium teams to deliver sustained high performance· Ability to identify, nurture and realise the potential in others· Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills· Ability to effectively represent through building collaborative relationships
  • Experience required : 7-9 years of relevant domain experience
