We are currently recruiting for experienced office based Insurance Motor Engineers to join our established team in our Halifax office.

The Role

This role involve reviewing repair assessments and technical reports in an office based environment and making associated recommendations, in line with customer propositions, product policies, and business strategy and performance targets.

You will spend some of your time making decisions on the repairability of vehicles, gathering relevant information, documenting findings and advising / negotiating with customers.

You will be comfortable with changing technology and be able to give advice on both 1st Party and 3rd Party cases.

You will be office based working in various teams to deliver set objectives. You will have strong analytical, communication and organisation skills.

Key Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Reviewing assessments of damaged vehicles, making the correct decision whether these should be repaired or deemed uneconomical to repair.
  • You will control costs through correct repair methodology, be responsible for categorisation of the salvage as per the ABI code of practice and settle the claim with the customer.

  • Preparing and delivering case technical decisions and solutions to the customer / claims team, in line with agreed processes at designated level authority, to meet business objectives and the customer proposition
  • Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner, escalating to more senior and / or qualified colleagues as necessary in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Identifying non-standard or complex claims and escalating to more qualified colleagues to ensure they are handled appropriately.
  • Providing expert advice, guidance and coaching to technical colleagues to develop knowledge and understanding of customers, and customers’ businesses and associated commercial drivers and risks.
  • Contributing to the development of customer propositions, bringing knowledge and insight of customers, and customers’ businesses, commercial drivers and risks, in order to identify opportunities to increase penetration of existing customers and / or expand the business mix.

    The Halifax office is home to teams from Commercial Operations, Finance, Personal and Commercial Claims. Based in the Dean Clough complex, the office benefits from an onsite staff deli, as well as a variety of other businesses based within the complex.
