This role encompasses all the activities of Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing while ensuring our clients site is legally compliant in all area’s covered within the EMCOR contract.

Based at Milton Hill Technology Centre the client’s site is a world leading research and development facility specialising in fuel additives.

The complex consists of test laboratories, fuel process facilities as well operational office environments.

It is the role of the Compliance Specialist to manage EMCOR UK site Compliance and HSEW operational procedures to ensure adherence to the Statutory Regulations.

Audits will occur monthly, or at other intervals and will include reviewing documentation and other records, as well as interviewing executives and employees for supporting information.

In instances where the organisation is not compliant, the Compliance Specialist must identify any gaps and what action needs to be undertaken, as well as prioritising the tasks to ensure compliance can be achieved and maintained.

This would require the individual creating, justifying and implementing a plan of action.

The compliance specialist must keep up to date with legislation changes and undertake regular reviews regarding what impact it has on the business.

Person Specification

  • Health and Safety qualification. Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate and demonstrable experience in an industry related Health and Safety role.
  • Fire safety qualification. NEBOSH Fire (desirable)
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of UK Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HSWA) and other relevant legislation e.
  • g. provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER); Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR).

  • Experience in the development of written processes and procedures in support of a Compliance / HSE system
  • Engineering / Technical background (Elec / Mech)
  • Have knowledge of SFG20, PPM and Statutory compliance
