Role overview

We have a vacancy for an experienced Project Manager in our New Connections and Private Networks team. The main purpose of the role is to deliver HV connections projects for a range of generation and private networks clients.

This is a great opportunity to join an established and expanding team.

Candidates can be home based, but must be able to commute to the Midlands and the South East with relative ease.

Main Duties :

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Freedom Group and its customers;
  • Manage multiple and / or major projects safely, to time and budget;
  • To prepare programs of work commitments with appropriate schedules detailing the labour requirements.
  • Take overview of work activities to be completed, and plan accordingly for effective and timely completion of the works.
  • Procure materials, equipment and plant in a timely manner to meet program and in accordance with Freedom Group policies.
  • Manage all financial aspects of projects.
  • Ensure extra works are costed and invoiced.
  • Provide cost value reconciliation for projects / contracts.
  • Ensure all sub-contracts are approved in line with Freedom Group’s company policies.
  • Ensure projects meet all current legislation HASAWA, NRSWA C.O.S.H.H. etc.
  • Assist in costing schemes for quotation as required.
  • Review and monitor programme schedule using Project Management tools.
  • Requirements :

  • Candidates must be a commercially astute Project Manager, ideally with experience in HV networks and / or contestable connections / ICP work.
  • An Electrical Engineering qualification at HNC or above.
  • An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety
  • A formal Project Management qualification would be preferred.
