Job Purpose :
Provide a focused perspective on EMEA Expense and Headcount performance by providing :
Insightful analysis as the foundation for strategic decision-making, resource allocation and performance management
Tools, analytical capability, and data to support thoughtful planning and target setting, as well as to drive business initiatives
The means by which management can both implement and measure the impact of those decisions and targets, and identify and implement course corrections
Job Background / context :
EMEA FPandA covers all aspects of the Citi Franchise including; Products, Geographies, Clients, Functions and OandT. It is part of the EMEA Finance team
The key stakeholders, in addition to the EMEA LFO’s / EMEA CFO are the Decision Support Team who provide analytics to the Regional Senior Management team
This is an exciting and challenging role in an area that is of critical importance within the Firm which acts as a key measurement of performance and accountability
Key Responsibilities :
Supporting LFO teams : Co-ordination and preparation of presentation material and talking points for any internal meetings for the EMEA CEO, CFO or business MBR’s
Performance Measurement : Analysing, investigating and explaining key movements and trends in the Expense and Headcount financials to Senior Management within finance (LFO’s / CFO)
Reporting : Production and presentation of comprehensive management information for overall Expenses as well as specifically for Compensation and Headcount
Maintaining a strong understanding of underlying drivers behind the numbers
Internal Client Meetings : Participation in both ad-hoc meetings and the monthly presentation of the reporting decks to EMEA LFO’s / CFO
Engagement : Proactively engage and interface across Finance and relevant business areas to leverage information and processes to meet requirements whilst avoiding unnecessary duplication.
Become established as a key point of contact based on finance knowledge, established network and ability to achieve results
Ad-hoc analysis and reporting : Lead ad-hoc analysis for EMEA CFO / LFO’s by performing one-time reviews and analysis on areas of management focus within Expenses
Ensure high quality support and analytics are provided across all Expense lines and analysis is targeted and focused.

Develop a detailed understanding of the EMEA Citi Franchise from both a financial and a business perspective
Develop or further the skills required to provide the organisation with the ability to; allocate resources, execute plans, analyse and anticipate performance
Significant interaction with other areas of FPandA, Finance (i.e. Controllers, Treasury and Tax) and the Business will enhance network and personal effectiveness
Significant scope for improving FPandA process and practice
Breadth of role will provide significant business and personal development opportunities
Provides interaction opportunities with senior Leadership (e.g. EMEA CFO,LFO’s.)
Knowledge / Experience :
Good working knowledge of ICG businesses
Prior experience of working within FPandA or similar function
Working in a Finance role with multiple stakeholders and in an organisation with a matrix management structure
Skills :
Highly articulate in verbal presentations as well as written communications
Demonstrated strength in financial analysis
Strong communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior-level executives
Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
Excellent organizational skills
Qualifications :
Strong financial accounting background with post qualification experience
Familiarity with financial services industry and / or related business products would be desirable but not essential Competencies :
