Within Ocado Group sits Platform Implementation, whose mission is to orchestrate the implementation of Ocado’s platforms globally’.

This department focuses on the full programme management life cycle of the implementation of our highly automated, multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) - from pre-deal, through to the design, construction, installation, testing and go-live’ phases (with all the process and portfolio management in between).

This department is instrumental in ensuring we deliver these CFCs on time, to budget, and to the specific requirements of each client.

The Design Coordination team (known internally as Integration Engineering) is located within the Product Application Engineering department in Platform Implementation.

This team is responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of the holistic engineering solution to itself, as well as to the building architecture and services.

We consult with various internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks of integrated solutions and provide technical support to overcome design coordination challenges.

Please note, this role is based at our Head Office in Hatfield, UK & international travel as well as flexibility to working hours will be required.

What will you be doing?...

Ensuring engineering models (created by CAD Services) are accurate and highlighting challenges to the Realisation Engineering team

Consulting and working closely with Product Engineering Specialists to ensure applicable products are used and applied in the right manner

Providing technical support to Realisation Engineers to enable conclusion of design challenges

Auditing and inspecting design information (created from a wide spectrum of design consultants), with an emphasis on identifying the impacts on Ocado OSP MHE

Acting as a primary stakeholder in reviewing project drawings for technical accuracy, highlighting where corrections and bespoke interventions are required

Creating technical documentation to promote adherence of best practice in architectural, mechanical, site / system safety and local code requirement considerations

Consulting and supporting Realisation Engineers and Planners with technical advice on the scope and sequencing of engineering deliverables

Managing the content within component libraries - working with Product Engineering Specialists to audit and quality control, and with CAD Services to outline the scope of work for component updates

Working and following all CDM guidance, both external and internal

About you...

Architectural, Engineering or Construction-related degree, or internationally recognised equivalent qualifications

Demonstrable practical experience delivering on accountabilities and responsibilities relating to design coordination

Proficiency in using BIM software and tools such as Autodesk BIM360, BIM360 Docs and Revit

Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Structural and M+E layout drawings for building, services and sub-systems

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with ability to write documentations and deliver presentations

Proven ability to manage and mitigate risks and challenges faced in the undertaking of common practices
