My client is looking for Freight Forwarder to join the team, the successful candidate will work on one of the company's largest accounts, importing goods from Europe into the UK
Duties of a Freight Forwarder :
Negotiate and organise FTL and part load shipments with new and existing sub-contractors and build strong working relationships.
Arrange road groupage ad air freight collections with existing suppliers and ensure collections and transit times are met.
React quickly to changing situations and follow strict and time sensitive KPI's to ensure compliance.
Recording, planning and executing road and air freight transport routes in line with SLA agreements.
Handle the day-to-day operational issues and maintain smooth flow of information in amongst other team members and the customer.
Respond in a timely manner to all customer queries surrounding transport solutions.
Support the culture of continuous improvement across the road freight network.
Upload data into systems accurately and up to date, with special care and attention to job-costing estimates.
Ensure all daily work schedules are completed in line with approved department procedures and deadlines.
Involvement with revision of process development
Strong understanding of customs and paperwork along with clearance issues / resolutions
Experience with the Xsped system is preferred but full training will be provided.
To have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
A background in international road and air freight imports / exports is essential.
High level of customer service skills.
